Summary and Explanation
For the sake of study, a chapter number has been assigned to each place the text is broken
and begins again on a new page. For example, Chapter 2 begins on page 20 and Chapter 3 on
page 28. Note, however, that these sections were not numerically delineated by the author,
perhaps in an effort to promote a feeling of underlying continuity.
For clarity, we have grouped each "chapter" into "parts" in order to summarize and explain the
text. These groupings are as follows:
Part 1: Epigraph & Chapter 1
Part 2: Chapters 2 - 4
Part 3: Chapters 5 - 7
Part 4: Chapters 8 - 9
Part 5: Chapters 10 - 12
Part 6: Chapters 13 - 15
Part 7: Chapters 16 - 18
Part 8: Chapter 19
Part 9: Chapters 20 - 23
Part 10: Chapters 24 - 25
Part 11: Chapter 26
Part 12: Chapters 27 - 28
