The Canterbury Tales The Canon and the Yeoman
by Geoffrey Chaucer

The Canon and the Yeoman are not part of the original company and are not described in the Prologue. Instead, they turn up near the end of the Canterbury Tales. While they are both originally polite, they are soon revealed as charlatans when the Yeoman begins to describe how they make their money by deceiving people with alchemical “tricks.”
